In May 2021, our owner James brought his crew to Virgil and Bonnie’s house to repair their damaged chimney. Several bricks and mortar joints needed replacement after decades of exposure to the St. Louis weather. Our team used the latest safety procedures to grind out deteriorated areas, including secure scaffolding, face masks, and silica dust vacuums. Then, we perfectly matched the new mortar and bricks to the original home and preserved our work.

“Thank God for Approved Home Improvements!

Before Approved Home Improvements, I hired a company to clean both chimneys. They condemned both and placed metal liners in my chimneys to solve the issue. It was an awful experience! Then I started having a smoke smell in my basement.

I watched an ad on TV for Approved Home Improvements. I contacted them to see what they thought. Approved Home Improvements quickly came out and assessed the situation for no charge. James thoroughly explained what they would do. He was very knowledgeable. The next morning I got a quote. Next week Approved Home Improvements were working on the fireplace. Approved Home Improvements uses a special mixture that runs down the ceramic tile to seal it and apply a mixture in the damper.

When Approved Home Improvements pulled out the metal liner that the other company had installed, it was incredible what we saw. The piping they put in was multiple size pieces taped together. They also cut into my damper, destroying it.

Approved Home Improvements are masters of their craft. They fixed everything. My fireplace is working better than ever and I feel very safe. Worth every penny. Approved Home Improvements was going to do my other chimney but the other company destroyed the ceramic tile and it was going to be a large effort to correct it, so I had them seal it off.

Please do not use anybody but Approved Home Improvements on your chimneys! Thank God, my house did not catch fire from the incompetence of the other company I previously used.”
